Loki adds a new episode on Disney+ every Wednesday from 12:00 a.m. And that could be exactly what sets up the existence of the multiverse in the MCU, paving the way for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home. If they were sent into the timeline to times and places where no nexus points occurred (and thus there is nothing to reset), they could end up wiping out events that the preservation of the timeline hinges on, creating multiple different timelines in the process. Remember, Loki broke down what a reset charge did in the episode’s opening act, reminding us that the TVA’s description of it was basically just “a fancy way of saying incinerate everything in its vicinity”. Bombing the sacred timeline was indeed her goal and the charges will do just that. Or did it? The end credits bill the character as Sylvie – who is another, entirely different, Marvel character.Īs for what she did with the reset charges, it appears that she sent them into different points in the timeline. Fans had long been speculating that the character would show up and Episode 2 gave them that confirmation. Yes, it appears that Lady Loki has arrived in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and she is played by Sophia Di Martino. What does the ending of Loki episode 2 really mean?įirst things first: This seems to be the confirmation fans had been waiting for. She then disappeared into one of the TVA’s portals, allowing Loki to follow her. It all goes very wrong when said Variant reveals her master plan: Activating all the reset charges at once, creating havoc with the timeline. And that more or less led them right to the Variant’s front door, resulting in a showdown between the two of them. The God of Mischief not only figured out that the Variant they were hunting was hiding out at a major pre-disaster site (because they could avoid making any changes to the timeline that would draw the TVA’s attention) but he managed to deduce when and where said disaster would take place. However, when it became clear that wouldn’t work, he tried to prove himself for real. What happened in Loki episode 2?Įager to prove himself (and pull the wool over the TVA’s eyes), Loki told his audience exactly what he thought they wanted to hear whenever he was taken into the field to examine the aftermath of the other Loki’s destruction. What came next really highlighted that the show was not messing around. The Disney Plus show quickly established its format as Loki set out to prove himself to the Time Variance Authority during their missions (while also making some room for a little mischief along the way). Loki wasted little time following up on its series opener with a sophomore installment that left viewers asking just as many questions as the previous one did (if not more!). Maybe with a McFlurry.Loki’s second episode has arrived on Disney Plus and it has left viewers in just as much shock as its predecessor. It’s tough to say, but thanks to McDonald’s, we know that Mobius will be back, so questions will likely be answered when Loki returns to Disney+ on October 6th. Another theory is that this is an entirely different timeline or “branch” altogether since the TVA exists outside of time. Not only does Mobius not know him, but the TVA is so recent, and He Who Remains (AKA Kang) could have his guard down. He has to somehow rebuild that trust and friendship with Mobius, which might not be easy. One theory is that Loki actually ended up in a past TVA, which would mean that Mobius doesn’t even know him yet. So…what exactly went down there? There are a few fan theories. Mobius shockingly doesn’t recognize Loki, asking him if he’s an analyst. The ads ends with Mobius (Owen Wilson) sitting down to enjoy his own meal, which has reignited some fan theories from the end of season one.įans may remember that Mobius runs into a distressed Loki who tries to warn him that there might be a Multiverse war about to break out. Maybe the McFlurry machine isn’t broken in this timeline. In a recent McDonald’s ad campaign, the fast food giant has been showing off clips of various TV shows and movies mentioning the chain, all leading up to a split second of Loki himself at the order kiosk. But hey, there’s a time and place for everything! A new episode of ' Loki' has arrived on Disney+ one week after the ending of Episode 2 left us with. We all knew that Loki would be coming back one way or another, it’s just not every day when you learn Marvel spoilers in a Mcdonald’s ad. By Eammon Jacobs / J9:46 am EST Contains spoilers for 'Loki' Episode 3.
